How do i figure out if my Rolex is real?
cassyfaye asked:
I got a Rolex watch about 3 years ago as a gift. I didnt recive any papers and i was wondering if i took it to a certified dealer if they could tell me its real or not. Im pretty sure it is real but i just want to know.

Take it to a jeweler!
Bring it in to a dealer, it’ll have a serial number and they will be able to confirm it for You.
the difference between a rolex and a fake rolex is in the movement of the second hand. I don’t recall which is which, but i think that a rolex as a steady moving second hand, where as the knock off’s have a second hand that ticks… but, again, i’m not sure which is which.
If it takes a battery, it is absolutely FAKE. No Rolex requires batteries.
does the second hand tick the seconds or does it sweep around the face? if it ticks, supposedly that means it’s fake.
jeweler is your best bet.
This is what I’ve heard and I don’t know if it’s true because I don’t own either a real or a fake Rolex. But supposedly the second hand on a real Rolex has a smooth movement but the second hand in a fake will have the typical tick tick tick type movement.
Hope I’m right, in case i ever get a Rolex…
Peace
