could this cashier check be legit or scam?

I just wanted to know if I took the check to my bank to get it verified and make sure it is legit and if everything go’s good and the money is in my bank. Is there a way he can make up a story or if it was another persons check is there a way they can get the money back and i will lose out? our if he does get his money back some how or if its someone else’s money and they get it all back will i still have that amount in my bank or will they take it all out and i will be stuck with nothing? Please help i don’t really know what to do.
